About
Who I am
One practitioner, sixteen years, three markets. Remote, with no office to visit. I work with founders and marketing leads in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.
Before going independent I spent nearly nine years as a project manager at a digital agency, running campaigns for clients in the US and Australia. That is where the habit of writing everything down came from: a recommendation that can’t be handed to someone else and executed isn’t finished.
Sixteen years in SEO and digital marketing since. Top Rated Plus on Upwork, 100% Job Success Score across 60+ completed projects.

The constraint
Why the practice stays small
It is one person deliberately. The work doesn’t survive being delegated: the value is in the judgment about which findings matter, and that judgment comes from having been in the data yourself.
So you talk to whoever did the analysis. There is no account manager relaying questions to someone you never meet, and no junior working through a template while my name sits on the cover.
The cost of that is capacity, and it is a real cost. I take fewer engagements than a team would, and sometimes the answer to “can you start next week?” is no.
How I work
Four stages
01 · Consultation
Free, and honest about fit
You describe the site and what changed. I say whether an audit is warranted, and sometimes that the answer is no.
02 · Audit
Scoped to the site
Checked against your data. Scope, depth and turnaround are agreed in writing first. Turnaround: 72 hours.
03 · Remediation
Only what the findings justify
Fixed price, defined end. Your developer can do it instead — the spec is written to be handed over.
04 · Verification
Measured, and reported either way
Same data, same queries, after the fix. If it did not work, that is what the report says.
Principles
Two commitments
These are the terms of the engagement, not values on a wall.
Evidence or silence
Every claim arrives with the data and the window it came from. Where something is uncertain, I say it is uncertain.
Bad news travels first
If a fix failed, if a finding was wrong, if the site is fine and you don’t need me — you hear that before anything else.
Limits
What I won’t do
- Guarantee a ranking or a traffic number
- Sell a monthly package with a fixed deliverable count
- Build links on networks or buy placements
- Publish volume content to fill a calendar
- Run a report you can’t reproduce yourself
Why link building isn’t offered at all
Link building sits outside the service offering entirely — not a package I’d rather not sell, but work I don’t do.
The buyable version of it is placements on sites that exist to sell placements. That is the pattern Google’s guidelines describe as link spam, and it is the same pattern that turns up in the penalty checks I get hired to clean up. Selling both sides of that would be indefensible.
Where links genuinely matter, the audit says so: which pages need authority, what the gap is, and what would earn it. Outreach, digital PR and partnerships are real answers — they are just someone else’s engagement, and I’ll say who to talk to.
Disagreement
When I disagree with a client
Recommending against work that would earn me money is part of the job. It is also the part that is easy to claim and hard to prove, so here is an instance of it rather than a promise about it.
The instance
During my agency years, a retained client’s site reached the point where the monthly work no longer justified the fee. The easy move was to add reporting and monitoring nobody needed. Instead I said the work had run out, restructured the engagement around what genuinely remained, and recommended the retainer be reduced. They stayed two more years.
When we disagree during an engagement, you get it in writing: the case for your position, the case for mine, the evidence behind both, and what each would cost. The decision stays yours.

Dion worked on a number of projects for me. He’s a great guy and is happy to push back on things if he doesn’t agree, and that SEO expertise is a valuable trait in a contractor. He’s also an excellent checker and someone who picks up mistakes.
Dion is a great person to work with. Very trusting and reliable. I look forward to working with him again on new projects in the very near future.
Dion is very organized and an excellent communicator. With the information he had at hand, he delivered the product as spec’d.
